The Sole Administrator of the Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA), Bro. Felix Obuah has announced the cancellation of this month’s state-wide sanitation exercise billed for Saturday, October 27, 2018.
A statement issued by the Agency in Port Harcourt said the cancellation of the sanitation exercise was due to the ongoing events of the National Festival of Arts and Culture, tagged NAFEST Rivers 2018 holding in Port Harcourt, the State capital.
Bro. Obuah said the cancellation of the exercise became necessary so as to enable contingents from all the states of the federation move freely to and from events venues.
While wishing all visitors a happy festive celebration and successful participation, the RIWAMA boss however urged those living and doing businesses in the State to keep their surroundings clean, at all times.
He further advised all residents in the state to cultivate good sanitary habits by ensuring that their surroundings are clean at all times and emptying their gutters and drainage systems to allow for free flow of water.
