OJP Commiserates With Elder Nwikinaka’s   Family

The Ogoni Journalists Platform has commiserated with the wife and other family members of one of its leaders, late Elder Augustine Nwikinaka.

In a condolence visit led by the chairman of the group,  Mr. B. B. Nwikabari, the Secretary, Mr Sunny Zorvah and the Assistant Secretary, Mr Emma. Mpeba, to the family’s Port Harcourt residence, the body said that it received the news of the sudden passing of their senior colleague and a very active member of its Elders Council, Elder Nwikinaka, with shock.

Mr Nwikabari added that members of the group are still in pain over the irreparable loss but have taken consolation in the fact that he (Elder Nwikinaka) lived a Godly life and was actively in the service of the Lord.

The OJP Chairman further expressed belief that Elder Nwikinaka has gone to be with the Lord, to whom he devoted his time, working in His vineyard, and who has also assured believers in Christ Jesus of resurrection.

He advised the family to remain strong and look up to God, who alone has the ability to fill the vacuum Elder Augustine’s death has created and prayed God to grant them the grace to bear the great loss.

Responding, the wife of late Augustine Nwikinaka, Mrs Ezinne Austine Nwikinaka, thanked members of Ogoni Journalists Platform for identifying with the family in their moment of grief and promised to inform and involve them in the burial arrangements.

She also appealed to them not to relent in upholding the ideals of the profession, adding that her late husband held those ideals in high esteem.
