MOSOP Vice Presidents Forum Condemns Protest March By Chapter Leaders

Vice Presidents of the six Kingdoms and two special units of Ogoni have taken a swipe at the Chapter Leaders of the Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People, for allegedly carrying out a protest march against the MOSOP President, Legborsi Pyagbara, in Bori, without their authorization.

In a release made available to National Network signed by Chief Miigbara Wilfred Tanee, Chairman, MOSOP Vice Presidents Forum; Elder Kanyone G.K, Secretary; Israel Sor-Ken – Khana Vice President; Friday Nlekawa – Tai Vice President; Gideon Amba – Eleme Vice President; Syvanus Adamgbo – Bori National Territory VP; Isaac Lemon – Gokana VP and Anthony M. Porole – MOSOP Secretary-General, the body said it did not authorize or direct any protest march against the present leadership of MOSOP, which they were part of, warning that whoever aided and supported the protesters to cause crisis would be held responsible for any breakdown of law and order in Ogoniland.

The MOSOP Vice Presidents further warned that: “whoever continues to hide under any cover, demanding for what is not his or her constitutional right, should desist from it”, describing as wasteful and insensitive the demand of the Chapter Leaders that there should be pre-election committee.

The body urged the MOSOP Chapter Leaders to return to the path of honour, sensibility and responsibility, and not make spurious claims or demand, which it described as ‘inconsequential’.

The Forum said it is committed and willing to peacefully address MOSOP Chapter Leaders in the Kingdoms and units for the progress of Ogoniland, saying this was not the time for people to cause distractions, while calling on all MOSOP activists to be law-abiding.
