RIWAMA Boss, Obuah Expresses Satisfaction Over Service Providers’ Compliance With Directive
The Sole Administrator of the Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA), Bro Felix Obuah says he is impressed by the level of compliance of the 24 hour ultimatum given to Service Providers to get rid of waste in their respective zones or get fired.
Bro Obuah who made the remarks this morning, while on a monitoring exercise of major roads and streets in Port Harcourt, the State capital and its environs said the action of the Service Providers showed a resolve to take their jobs serious.
While on the monitoring exercise at East West Road, Rumuokoro and along Bori camp, the Sole Administrator issued a stern warning to the Service Provider, Royal George, who is covering those areas to ensure that all waste are removed with immediate effect, warning that failure to do so would have his contract terminated.
Bro. Obuah further warned Service Providers, High Five Limited, Rumuokoro and its environs; and GUI Company, Elelenwo to Akpajo respectively, to as a matter of urgency, remove all the waste in their areas or get fired.
The Sole Administrator directed monitoring teams to regularly on daily basis report situation at East West Road, Rumuokoro, Bori Camp and all other areas in Port Harcourt, the State capital and its environs, to his office, for appropriate action.
Bro Obuah also appealed to those living and doing business in Rivers State to adhere strictly to sanitation rules, by not dumping refuse outside the approved dumping time and at unauthorized places.
While restating that the Agency would no longer tolerate indiscriminate dumping of refuse at unauthorized places and outside the government approved time of 6 pm to 12 midnight, the RIWAMA boss warned that the task force will apprehend defaulters and prosecute them accordingly.###
