Rivers/Bayelsa Bible Society Of Nigeria Gets New Chairman

The Rivers/Bayelsa Area  of the Bible Society of Nigeria (BSN) has elected the immediate past Chairman of  the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ, Elder Omoni Ayo-Tamuno as it Chairman.

The election took place in Port Harcourt last Friday, November 9 at the Banham  Methodist Cathedral and conducted by the Senior Manager, Operations and Programmes, BSN Headquarters, Lagos, Mr Samuel Adesola Sanusi.

Other Offices elected include. Bishop Patrick Usan,  First Vice Chairman, Princess Doris Oputibeya, Second Vice Chairman,  Alabo  Godknows T. Tariah, Treasurer,  Dr Roseline Uranta, Financial Secretary, Mr Tomoniabia Robinson, Auditor I,and Rev Tonye Omoni. Auditor II.

Also elected are  Elder S. F. Oruye, National Board Member I, Father Joel One, National Board Member II,  Mr Samuel Kulobo,Publicity Sectretary,Mr Omiete Whyte ,youth/Programm Officer His Grace Nimi John Fynface JP, Ex-Officio I and Rev Dr Ogbuewe O. Captain.

Speaking after conducting the election, the BSN Senior Manager, Operations and Programmes, Mr Samuel Adesola Sanusi charged the newly elected officers to work hard and uplift the activities of Bible Society of Nigeria in Rivers and Bayelsa States.

Mr Sanusi further charged the officers to see that more auxiliaries are created in the two states and revived the ones not functioning effectively.

In his post election speech, the new Chairman who was the First Vice Chairman in the last Executive pledge to carry out the upliftment of the Area Orifice and work towards erecting of a new office.

Mr Ayo Tamuno promised to work  closely with Church Heads in the area to gain support for BSN activities.

The newly elected officers are to serve for four years.
