Atiku Campaigner Berates Women ‘Protesters’ In Port Harcourt
The National Coordinator of One PDP 4Atiku Group, Comrade Biokpo Diali George has taken a group of women who embarked on a protest march in Port Harcourt on Monday to cleaners, saying they are nothing short of a shadow of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State.
George said his reaction became necessary especially as security agencies purportedly gave them the permission to carry out the exercise.
“My position is that the so-called protest was politically motivated, if not, why carry banners with inscriptions screaming ‘Wike must stop the killings?
“Why would they pick on the Chief Security Officer of the State who has demonstrated so much capacity to prove the safety of lives and properties in the state. Port Harcourt, as everyone knows has been a beehive of state and national events in the past six months. If the state was not secured, the world would have known about that”.
The Atiku campaigner who also the Rivers State Coordinator of Wike Solidarity Movement, Waterfronts Mobilization Cluster said the claim that the marchers were a coalition of 40 NGOs further shows that the APC’s exercise was nothing but a circus show.
“As far as I’m concerned, that exercise was carried out by a coalition of mischievous APC hirelings taking advantage of poor innocent women who have been deceived by a national party who cannot keep their promises to Nigerians”, he submitted.
According to George who is also the Co-founder and Volunteer 4 Wike Mobilization Cluster: “If they were truly a coalition of 40 NGOs, why didn’t they raise a communiqué before the protest began and why didn’t any banner bear the name of one of the NGOs?”
The OnePDP 4Atiku boss charged security agencies not to rush into given permission for protests except they extract a valid statement as to the authenticity of their claims, adding “Where security agencies fail to ask serious questions before handing out permissions to carry out a march, one would be forced to draw the conclusion that security agencies have taken sides with the protesters”.
According to him, the women protesters ‘played the devil’s advocate while the devil also played a fast one on them’.
