…Says: He’s A Product Of Consolidation

…Ogonis Are United For Fubara – Marvin Yobana

Another feather has been added to the cap of the Rivers State governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sir Siminialayi Fubara, as people of Ogoni Kingdom have crowned him the “Mene Lee Gbo 1 of Ogoni land”.

The Opobo-born governorship hopeful was on Saturday, during the grand finale of the inauguration of the Ogoni Sim Vanguard (OSV)’s Door-To-Door Voters Mobilization Campaign  in Bori, headquarters of Khana Local Government Area, conferred with the title, meaning “the good friend of Ogoni people”.

The prestigious title was bestowed on Amaopusenibo Siminialayi Fubaral by a body of Ogoni traditional rulers led by HRM, Mene Barile Y. Deebom Gbenemene Ken-Khana.

Chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogoni land present at the occasion lauded the choice of Amaopusenibo Sim Fubara by the party to lead the vanguard in consolidating the worthy achievements of Governor Nyesom Wike, come 2023.

Addressing Ogoni people at the event, Amaopusenibo Sim Fubara dismissed insinuations that the PDP does not exist in Ogoniland, stressing that the fact that some Ogonis are in the governorship race does not displace the PDP in the area.

He however tasked the PDP to work day and night for the victory of the party in next year governorship election.

“I am not here as a candidate of ‘it’s our turn’.  I am not here as a candidate of Opobo.  I am a product of consolidation.  And if you understand what consolidation means, it is to complete what we are already doing.

“One government cannot complete everything.  The good work that our leader is doing today can only be sustained by another offering of PDP.   That is the way and solution to create more roads here.  That is the way and solution to bring cottage businesses inside Ogoni.  I have come here to assure you again that you are in the right direction, and your decision to stand by our Governor is the best thing for everyone”, said the PDP governorship hopeful.

Speaking at the occasion, the member representing Khana/Gokana Federal Constituency at the  House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Dumnamene Robinson Dekor hailed Ogonis for moving in the right direction, stating that the people have the number and the PVC to do the needful.

“From Khana where I come from, we have 359 units and those 359 units are fully charged to do the needful.  What we are doing here is to tell our people that the boat is loading.  Anybody who has been hearing stories should disregard those stories and come and enter this boat and let us move to the Promise Land”, Dekor said.

Rt. Hon. Dekor, a former Deputy Speaker in the Rivers State House of Assembly as well as former Works Commissioner in the State, said he would vouch for the ‘incoming Governor’ as a great man and one who has capacity to govern the state.

“I have personal knowledge of him because I have worked with him.  He will not get to Opobo unless he passes here.  We must take our own, because he is our own.  We must vote him. And let me say something – He came here and told Ogoni people to go and collect their PVC.  This is the time the PVCs he begged you to collect will be put to use.  And we will use it because INEC and the laws of the land have permitted us to campaign.  All of us must vote for PDP.  PDP is Sim and Sim is your own”, he said.

In his welcome address, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Ogoni Sim Vanguard, Ambassador Mavin Yobana said the support for the PDP governorship candidate for next year’s election is unanimous.

He said the decision is hinged on the developmental strides of Governor Nyesom Wike in Ogoni land.

His words, “Why Ogoni should support Sim Fubara? The Ogonis are eternally grateful to Governor Wike and the leadership of PDP for the choice of Sim Fubara, our incoming governor on May 29, 2023 by the grace of God.

“He is an Opobo son and Ogoni is a gateway to Opobo.  On every tree from Port Harcourt to Opobo, Sir Sim will definitely pass through the four local government press of Ogoni before he gets to Opobo.  Given the above scenario, you know that Sir Sim Fubara will repeatedly be reminded of all the challenges we have as he traverses these routes every time he goes home.

“We the Ogonis already knows that he loves us and has so many sons and daughters of Ogoni who are his close allies”.
