OBALGA Boss Urges Political Group To Intensify Mobilization For Wike, Atiku’s Election

The Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Hon. Solomon Eke has advised members of Progressive Organization for Peace and Transformation Compliance (PROPATRAC) to do more work if their mission of reelecting Nyesom Ezenwo Wike as governor of Rivers State and bringing Atiku Abubakar as Nigeria’s President in 2019 is to be realized.

Hon. Eke gave the advise while responding to the speech of Prince Sunny Opara, Rivers State chairman of PROPATRAC which was delivered by the Secretary, Rev. Henry Echenwo during a courtesy visit to the Obio/Akpor chairman at the Council Secretariat Rumuodomaya.

According to the Hon. Chairman, immediately the former President Goodluck Jonathan lost election, PROPATRAC went underground, stressing that lack of proper coordination caused the disintegration of the former coordinators and the abandonment of PROPATRAC by old members who he observed, had now joined the APC.

“If our focal point is good governance, we cannot enter underground, instead we should carry the message of good governance to the world, and project good things others are doing” he said.

He told the executive members of the body that he is not new to PROPATRAC, stressing that even before Obio/Akpor chapter was inaugurated he had met with the lady National President of PROPATRAC and held fruitful discussions with her, adding that it was during that meeting that a respected Traditional Ruler, Eze Temple Ejekwu was appointed the patron.

The Obio/Akpor Chief Executive Officer also made it known that he expected PROPATRAC to play big role during his campaigns for chairmanship, but was dismayed that they were nowhere to be found.

He admitted that members of the body may have expectations which had not been met, but he stressed that they should continue to work hard saying one day they would be rewarded for their hardwork. He told them that it was his hardwork that was responsible for the positions he has held in life, including his present position.

He said people were watching him while he was working hard and making sacrifices and that they eventually rewarded him for it, stressing that PROPATRAC members should do the same inorder to receive their reward, which he said, could come at anytime.

Earlier, the Secretary of PROPATRAC, Revd. Henry Echenwo who spoke on behalf of the chairman, Prince Sunny Opara said the group had undertaken massive sensitization and mobilization exercises aimed at raising support for the election of Wike and Atiku in 2019 stressing that the group now had coordinators in the 23 local government areas of Rivers State as well as a large number of members who were confirmed registered voters with their PVCs. He also disclosed to the chairman of the impending visit of the National President of PROPATRAC to Rivers State on 21st December and of the need to give him adequate reception.

Highpoint of the event was the presentation of an award to Hon Eke for his success at the local government election and for being a staunch member of PROPATRAC by the Rivers Chairman, Prince Sunny Opara.

PROPATRAC is a powerful support group nationwide that is canvassing for good governance and working to realize the ambition of Wike and Atiku to become governor and president in 2019.
