Koko-Ama King Advocates Peace For Dev In Kingdom

The Amanyanabo of Koko-Ama Ancident Kingdom in Port Harcourt Local Government Area of Rivers State, HRH King Frank Iritamunoke Hezekiah Koko, Opuchiri IV, has appealed for peaceful co-existence among his people, adding that peace is panacea to development of any nation.

The monarch made the appeal over the weekend during the celebration of his recent coronation by the Amanyanabo of Ancient Ogolomo Kingdom, His Majesty, King E. T. I. Obudibo (JP), Ikwo V, and his council of chiefs King Koko made it clear that his ascension to the throne was divine and that he and his council of chiefs are determined to make a difference.

According to him, “without the support and cooperation of our people, we shall achieve little or nothing, therefore, every hands must be on deck for us to positively affect our generation”.

He further disclosed that his reign will focus more on youth and women empowerment for self reliance, adding that if the youths, particularly, are positively engaged, there would be no room for cultism or other societal vices and that the development will rub off on the society.

“Apart from employment and empowerment of our people, we shall equally embark on skill acquisition programmes to enhance our people’s living standard, “he declared.

Also speaking during the royal banquet in celebration of the coronation, the chairman, Ogoloma council of chiefs, Alabo (Prof) Rawling S. Jamabo, said they are willing to support him to succeed on the throne.

He, however, urged the monarch to endeavour to carry  everybody along in the scheme of things and wished him peaceful and long reign on the throne.

The Queens mother and mother of the Koko-Ama King, Madam Patience I. Hezekiah Koko said she was excited that her first son eventually ascended the throne of his fore-fathers, adding that the family is ready to support him with prayers for him to succeed.

The excited Queens mother used the opportunity to appeal for support and cooperation from the entire people to enable the King, his son, achieve the goal of the ancient stool which is peace and development of the Kingdom.

“You know, the King is a very young man, everybody should support him with useful advice in the interest of us all,” she declared.

Different kinds of masquerades, including the women dancing group of Koko-Ama displayed at the occasion.
