Unique Mothers Of Ogoni Assures Gov Wike, Others Of Victory At 2019 Election
A prominent Women group in Ogoni under the aegis of Unique Mother of Ogoni has declared that they will be fully involved and committed to deliver bulk votes to governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike and indeed all the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming general election to ensure their electoral victory at the poll.
President of the group, Hon. Chief Charity Deemua stated this in a chat with newsmen at Khana Local Government Area when the PDP State Campaign train arrived there.
She disclosed that the UMO has sensitized and mobilized the Ogoni women who had already procured their PVC’s and ready to vote out the discredited APC-led federal government.
Chief Deemua made it clear that the Ogoni people are ready to resist the onslaught of the opposition party on them in the re-run election of 2016 that robbed the people of their mandate.
According to her “our people are wiser now and they are ready to resist the APC opposition party’s manipulation in collaboration with the security agencies that gave them undeserved victory”.
On the illegal replacement of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Mr. Walter Onnoghen, the group president described it as a coup against the people, the constitution and democracy by the Buhari-led administration, adding that the reason is for a compromised CJN to give support to their plot to stay in power at all cost.
Chief Deemua made it known that for all the benefits the Ogoni people have derived from the Wike administration both infrastructural development and plumpy appointments of their sons and daughters into positions of trust, there is no way they will not return bulk votes to the PDP candidates to at least reciprocate the good gesture of the governor.
This is the only gender friendly governor who made it compulsory for all the vice chairmen slots of the Local Government Council is given to the female folks in addition to the councillorship slots as well as other appointments for the female politicians”, she noted.
“For these and many more benefits to the Ogoni people, she noted, it would be difficult for anyone of their votes to escape to the other political parties because according to her, all these benefits especially the roads and infrastructural development does not discriminate against them.
Besides that, she said, the wave of decampment from the APC to the PDP is enough to assure the governor that he has won the hearts of Rivers people.
Hon. Chief Charity Deemua used the opportunity to advise governor Wike to continue in his defence of democracy and the country, praying that no weapon of the enemies fashioned against him will prosper as long as he is on the right part, fighting a just cause.
She equally used the opportunity to advise the electorate to be steadfast in their support for the Wike administration, adding that at the end light will triumph over darkness.
