RSG Lauded Over Efforts On Security In Ogoni Land

The Rivers State Government under the leadership of Chief Bar. Nyesom Wike has been commended for the giant steps he has taken towards curbing the menance of cult related activities in Ogoni land.

The Men Sira Bara Bateera1 of Ogoni , Chief Solomon Ndigbara made the commendation in a press briefing he held in his palace.

He also lauded the deployment of security personnel to Bori and its environs  while appealing to the security personnel to be professional in discharging their duties.

He called on the police authorities to immediately transfer men and officers of the command who have served in Ogoni area for too long to another area disclosing that there is a mutual relationship between the bad and violent boys and those security personnel resulting to compromise in the discharge of their duties.

Chief Ndigbara, maintained that in proffering solution to the continuous violent killings in Ogoni communities, the traditional Rulers of these communities should ensure that the youths swear to an oath that they will never indulge in any violent act or criminal activities.

Lamenting the fact that he has become a fugitive in his land of birth, he called on the Federal and State Governments to look into his case, stressing that like every other Nigerian , he deserves a free and peaceful life.

He also commiserated with the widow and family of late Dr Ferry Gberegbe while advising the public to stay calm and not take laws into their hands pending the out come of Government’s investigation on the issue.

Chief Ndigbara unequivocally called on the Rivers State Government to ensure that such incident does not occur as it is capable of causing breach of Peace

 The Ambassador of Peace reiterated his readiness to assist the security agencies tackle the insecurity in the area, recalling his previous and unrelenting efforts in restoring peace in most Ogoni and Niger Delta communities.
