FCE, Omoku, Friends Celebrate PAC Ordu
The Provost, Federal College of Education (Technical), Omoku, Rivers State, Dr. Emmanuel Ikenyiri has described his former Deputy, Dr. Pac Ordu as a trusted, God fearing, loyal and dependable partner who was sent to him by God.
Dr. Ikenyiri who stated this at a brief get-together organized for Dr. Pac Ordu by members of his immediate family to mark his successful end of two tenure as Deputy Provost noted that he has been praying to God to provide him with another Deputy like the out gone.
The Provost who spoke through the Director, Directorate of Internal Audit of the College, Mr. Victor Ifeanyichukwu Ahiakwo (CNA), appealed to all staff of the College to desist from petition writing as it is a wind that blows no good than harm and wished Dr. Pac Ordu well in any good thing he will place his hands.
Also speaking, the Registrar of the College, Dr. Liverpool Eboh Onyije described Dr. Pac Ordu as humble and one of the hardworking staff of the College whose excellent relationship with external bodies attracted goodies to the College.
In their various speeches, the Dean Student Affairs, Mr. M.B.W Gimba, the Director Academic Planning, Research and Statistics, Mr. Diepriye Febrisima and the Chairman Senior Staff Union of Colleges of Education of the College, Comrade Mrs. Esther Ezie eulogized the former Deputy Provost describing him as a God fearing man whose life style is worth emulating.
In his brief response, the highly elated former Deputy Provost, Dr. Pac Ordu thanked all staff, students and friends of the College for their support and co-operation while in office and urged them to extend same to who will be his successor.
He expressed gratitude to the immediate past Provost of the College, Dr. Bassey Ubong for appointing him as his Deputy and to the incumbent Provost, Dr. Emmanuel Ikenyiri for retaining him in the same office till the end of his tenure and give God all the glory.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Organizing Committee and wife of the celebrant, Mrs. Diseph Pac Ordu had told the audience that the ceremony was organized to appreciate God for his grace by seeing their son, brother, husband, father and bread winner, Dr. Pac Ordu to the peaceful and successful tenure as Deputy Provost as well as all he (God) has done in his (Pac Ordu) life.
According to a statement by the PRO of the College, Prince Charles Amadike-Otoboh, JP, the out gone Deputy Provost, Dr. Pac Ordu who joined the College in 1995 as Lecturer II and rose to the rank of Chief Lecturer which is equivalent to associate professor in the University have served the College in various capacities such as chairmanship of many standing and adhoc committees, Head of Department, Director of Directorates, Dean of School, Deputy Provost and Acting Provost.
The ceremony which took place at the main bowl of the Theater Arts Hall of the College was attended by people from all walks of life including Principal Officers, Deans, Directors, Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff, Students, relations of the celebrant and friends of the College.
