Akpor Consultative Assembly Re-Assures PDP Of Support
…As Group Celebrates Wike’s Electoral Victory
A socio-political pressure group in Obio/Akpor Loca Government Area of Rivers State, the Akpor Consultative Assembly (ACA) has re-assured the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of their support and loyalty at all times.
Speaking with newsmen at Ozuoba over the weekend, the president of the group, Chief Hanny Woko Esq. said they were particularly grateful to God for granting electoral victory to all the PDP candidates especially the state governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, whom he said the enemies of the state had vowed to remove at all cost.
“The onslaught and political violence unlashed against the state was unprecedented in the history of the country. And it takes one with God to have survived all the plot and conspiracy to emerge victorious”, he declared.
Chief Woko also said the group deemed it proper to return thanks to God that despite all that happened, the group did not loose anybody, even his vice president, Hon. Felix Amadi who was shot at during the election miraculously survived at the hospital.
Also speaking at the church service, the vice chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Council, Hon Lady Chinyeru Agbara said the group was happy that their effort in supporting the PDP candidates was not in vain.
She also used the opportunity to condemn the upsurge in criminality especially the cult war in the state and called on all stakeholders to join hands with Government to bring the situation under control.
“Please this killings should stop especially in Akpor land”, she pleaded.
Preaching the sermon during the thanksgiving church service at St. Michael’s (Ang) Church, Ozuoba, Port Harcourt, Revd Canon, Prince Charles Ezeanochie said man like sheep has the tendency to stray away from God’s care and protection.
He admonished Christians to emulate Jesus Christ style of leadership, for he was ever ready to lead by example as a good shepherd.
The man of God made it known that leaders have the responsibility to lay down their lives for their followers if possible wherever they find themselves.
On the other hand, Revd Ezeamochie noted that God has the capacity to meet the needs of the Christian faithful if only they could learn to trust Him.
Members of the group came out in their numbers, sporting their immaculate white uniform for the church thanksgiving and later the elaborate reception held at the country home of Hon Tony Okeah at Rumuolumeni Community.
The Vice President of ACA Hon. Felix Amadi equally used the opportunity to thank God and Governor Wike for surviving the onslaught during the election.
He reaffirmed the Akpor people’s resolve to support the Wike administration especially for the appointment of Hon Tony Okeah, adding that it is an indication of good things to come their way in this second tenure of the governor.
The PDP chieftain however appealed to the governor to give priority attention to unemployment to keep the youths busy.
