Bori Conference Centre Gets Management Committee

The multi-million naira International Conference Centre cited at Norterm community in the heart of Bori, headquarters of Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State has been handed over to a special committee for management.

Recall the project was built by the member representing Khana Constituency One in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Bariene Deeyah, popularly called Fuzy, and commissioned on March 4, 2019, by the State Governor, Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike.

The event was held right inside the Conference Centre at Northern – Bori where applauses rented that air for the governor and Hon. Deeyah following their achievements.

Meanwhile, in a bid to ensure constant security, neatness and meaningful use of the edifice, an eight-member townhall management committee (TMC) has been given the responsibility to see that the standard and beauty of the structure was not compromised.

The Committee has Chief Kue Maxwell as chairman, and Mr. Bonny Neebee as secretary. Others are Chief Gabriel Igbara, Chief James Ikpai, Pius Igbara, Ejike Nwagua, Legborsi Igbara and Jonah Igbara.

Swearing in the committee during a brief ceremony at the centre over the weekend, the Menebua Northern cum Paramount Ruler of Bori, HRM, King (Sir) Lenu Tsaro-Igbara (JP) reminded the committee of the need to perform their functions creditably and congratulated them on their appointment.

The traditional ruler also thanked the State Governor for his support to the people of Babbe Clan which provides the background for Hon. Bariene Deeyah to perform his oversight functions to his constituency and state with success. He assured the committee of his support.

Speaking on behalf of the townhall management committee (TMC), its chairman, Chief Kue Maxell thanked the people for considering them worthy of the assignment and pleaded for co-operation and understanding to enable them succeed.

Chief Maxwell Kue also prayed for long life and more achievements for Hon. Fuzy, even as he and his committee members pleaded with him to further extend his good services to the place by getting a long abandoned 500 KVA transformer at Northern community connected to the national grid to improve the socio-economic wellbeing of the residents.

Highlight of the event included handing over of keys of the building to the TMC and conducting the Menebue King Lenu Tsaro-Igbara round the structure.
