Evangelist Preaches Moral Rectitude Among Youngsters
Evangelist Tamunoemi Pepple of Our Lord Church Minama in Asari-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State has expressed dismay over the indecent dressing by young men and women in churches, describing it as loss of Christian values by Christians especially those clerics saddled with the responsibility of ensuring that people abide by acceptable dress code in church premises.
Evangelist Pepple while chatting with our reporter disclosed that the church is supposed to be a sanatorium of societal reformation, a builder of the character of citizenry, a living example of righteous living and lifestyle. She also noted that the church ought to walk a path that is asphalted with integrity, purity, and probity.
Evangelist Pepple emphasized that most churches have allowed the world to overwhelm them instead of the church overpowering the world. Noting that women dress in a manner that expose the inner and sacred parts of their bodies while in church premises. “They have allowed worldly things to creep into the church that is why women dress in an unnecessary manner into the church” she said.
On the issue of courtship among would-be Christian couples, the Evangelist said that nothing is wrong with courtship, if only it is done within the Christian tenets.
However, she said sex and sex related activities such as body contacts for romantic purposes should totally be out of the picture while those courting must make their intentions public.
She advised that people in this category should spend time together especially in public so as to familiarize with themselves especially at Christian programmes that will help boost their faith.
Evangelist Pepple also appealed to parents to live up to expectation by giving their children the basic Christian home training to properly equip them for the future ahead. Noting that one of such ways is by teaching them Bible based principles and making them read the Bible so as to be filled by the words of God and the Holy Spirit.
