Bille Kingdom Youth Federation Gets New Exco

Consequent upon the election of the Bille Kingdom Youth Federation (BKYF) penultimate weekend, there has been a change of baton of the youth body.

Handing over the assets and liabilities of the body to the newly elected officers in a well attended ceremony in Port Harcourt, the outgoing president, Asatubo Obirabi S. Sylvanus promised to support his successor, Pastor Iyowuma Diri  in any way possible to enable his exco succeed.

Asatubio Sylvanus in his address at the event used the opportunity to thank everybody who gave them the chance to serve their people in that capacity.

He disclosed that the primary function of the youth body is to coordinate youth activities of the kingdom in accordance with the vision of the youth congress which he noted is to make positive contributions towards the peaceful and orderly development of the Bille Kingdom.

According to him, “the BKYF has had eight (8) executive councils since inception in 1994”.

Asatubo Sylvanus stated that his council did not have the benefit of handover of documents or assets and liabilities due to the absence of a functional youths council.

“Consequently we never had any handover notes to guide us but relied on the Almighty God for our modest achievements”.

Asatubo Sylvanus equally used the opportunity to list out the modest achievement of his Exco to include, the securing and adequate distribution of work chances from the companies operating in their territory among all the constituent units; the sponsoring of three Bille youths to Plateau State to train for the National Peace Corps of Nigeria; acquisition of a two bedroom flat at 185 Victoria street, Port Harcourt as the federation liaison office.  

He said youth body also employed three (3) teachers to teach Bille Kingdom children her dialect and history which they noted was fast disappearing.

“Other jobs undertaken by the outgoing youth Exco also includes payment of NECO exam fees for all regular students at the Community Secondary School, Bille for the 2018/2019 school year; regular assistance to the Bille Kingdom Chiefs Council and other constituted authorities among others”.

The outgoing executives also disclosed that it has handed over the cash sum of (N150,000) to the incoming executives for easy take off.

Recall that the newly elected youth president of Bille Kingdom Youth Federation (BKYF) in Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State, Pastor Iyowuna Mpakabuari Diri in his acceptance speech had urged the people of the area to embrace as panacea for development and rural transformation.

He equally promised on behalf of Exco members that they will not betray the confidence repose in them by his people.

The youth president had equally urged the Bille people to close ranks in order to build a common front that will enhance the development of the kingdom and better the lives of the people of the area.

Pastor Diri also promised to run an all inclusive administration in the interest of all and appeal for the support of the outgoing exco members whenever there are needed in the interest of all.

Other members of the Exco included, Timinotokoro Sampson, Vice President; Clinton B. Rogers, Secretary; Crown Birena, Asst Secretary; Oguru Diri, PRO (1), Rev Joyful Job, PRO II. Others were Terry Diri, Financial Secretary; Ibigotemiari Bobmanuel, Treasurer; Samuel Bowel and Crownwill Diri were elected Provost I and II respectively.
