Funeral Service Of Late Ekpeyong Ita Unites Prominent Nigerians
Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike on Saturday joined other mourners to pay his last respects to Late Barrister Mrs Temitope Ekpeyong Ita, departed wife of Former Director General of the Department of State Services, DSS, Mr Ekpeyong Ita .
The Funeral Service which took place at the Presbyterian Church, Hope Waddel Parish in Calabar attracted prominent Nigerians from across the country .
In a tribute at the funeral service, Rivers State Governor , Nyesom Ezenwo Wike described the death of Mrs Temitope Ekpeyong Ita as a huge loss.
He said: “This family is my family. I am a member of this family. Why do good people die early and the bad ones stay for so long? She was gracious and loving. An exemplary wife, who left beautiful marks”.
Governor Wike in a condolence message on behalf of the government and people of Rivers State to the Widower, Mr. Ekpenyong Esien Ita and family, expressed deepest shock on the death of Mrs.Temitope Ekpenyong Ita, saying Rivers people are deeply pained by the loss.
The Governor described Mrs.Temitope Ekpenyong Ita as one of a kind, extraordinarily affectionate, gracious, loving and exemplary wife and mother who inspired others and left lasting marks on the hearts of men not only with her ever-peaceful disposition, but also with the boundless love, care and warmth, radiated for her family and everyone that cross her path.
While noting that the death of Mrs. Temitope Ekpenyong Ita was a devastating blow to the family, Governor Wike urged them to be consoled by her Christian life and the worthy legacies she left behind in the service of God and humanity.
He also prayed God to give the widower and his family , the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss and strength to face life without the presence of their beloved one.
Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel said that he is emotional about the passage of the Late Wife of the Former Director General of the Department of State Service.
He said death is an appointment everyone must keep, but condoled with the family on the untimely death of Mrs Temitope Ekpeyong Ita. He said that the death is devastatingly painful and urged Mr Ita to be consoled by the beautiful memories of his late wife.
Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Prof Ivara Esu said the death of Mrs Temitope Ekpeyong Ita is a big loss to the people of Cross Rivers State. The Deputy Governor who represented the State Governor said she will continue to live in the hearts of the people.
Former Cross River State Governor, Donal Duke said that the life of Late Mrs Temitope Ekpeyong Ita made others richer as she blessed them with her quality contributions.
Obong of Calabar represented by Otubong Bassey Oko Bassey said that the death of Mrs Temitope Ekpeyong Ita is a great loss to the people of Calabar.
Former Senate Leader, Senator Ndoma Egba said that the Late Mrs Temitope Ekpeyong Ita lived a quality life. He urged the family to be consoled by the fact that she has transited to the bosom of the lord.
The Widower of Late Mrs Temitope Ekpeyong Ita and Former Director General of DSS, Mr Ekpeyong Ita said that he has lost a defender which has left him stranded.
In his tribute which was read on his behalf by Patience Ita, Mr Ekpeyong Ita said that his late wife stood by him at very difficult times. He said that his late wife was a blessing to him.
The children of Late Mrs Temitope Ekpeyong Ita also paid tribute to their mother in the solemn Service.
In his sermon, the Prelate and Moderator of General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, His Eminence Nzie Nsi Eke who spoke on the theme “Heaven is Our True Home” said late Mrs. Temitope Ekpenyong Ita has gone to be with the Lord.
Mrs. Temitope Ekpenyong Ita, who died on March 13, 2019 after a brief illness, was a staff of the Corporate Affairs Commission Abuja.
Prayers were said for the repose of the soul of Late Mrs Temitope Ekpeyong Ita by the clerics of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria.
Governor Wike accompanied to the funeral service in honour of Late Mrs Temitope Ekpeyong Ita by former Minister of Sports, Dr. Tammy Danagogo, Mr. John Kennedy Opara, Mr. Marcus Elli-Ejie, Felix Nwaeke and Ibrahim Mark.
