Okorocha In Trouble Over Ownership Of Eastern Palm University

The Real Trouble For Okorocha Begins as Imo State House of Assembly has moved a motion requesting the Governor of Imo State, Hon Emeka Ihedioha to investigate the ownership of Eastern palm University, Ogboko, Ideato South LGA of the State.

The motion was moved on Thursday by Hon. Eddie Obinna, Aboh Mbaise state constituency, and supported by Hon. Philip Ejiogu of Owerri North state constituency.

It’s pertinent to recall that Okorocha as an immediate past Governor of the Eastern Heartland State during his Rescue Mission administration told Ndi-Imo that based on the crises erupting from his administration’s vision of relocating the State University outside Owerri metropolis due to congestion but later relocated the University to Ogboko his ancestral community but following an expected criticism he swiftly changed the name of the institution to Imo European University and insisted that the state University should remain in Owerri it’s original location.

Okorocha was alleged to have changed the tile name and documents of the Imo European University to his personal University with 80% equity share as Eastern Palm University.

Many crtics were of the view that the money used to build the infrastructure thereto belongs to Ndi-Imo and the University remains the property of Imo State not that of Okorocha.

On inauguration of Ihedioha as the governor of the state many Imolites started demanding that the Governor should not close down the University but to use instrument of law and due process to retrieve it for State along side the one the Rescue Mission Governor built at old IBC premises, Orji and named it Rochas Foundation College, Owerri.
