Oil Thieves Were Arrested In Krakrama, Not Invasion, LAPRADP Clarifies

A security outfit responsible for tackling illegal oil bunkering in the Niger Delta region simply known as LAPRADO Company has debunked the rumour that Bille people invaded Krakrama Community.

In a statement signed by the Rivers State Coordinator of the company, Chief Okuro Digbani said security personnel attached to the outfit arrested illegal oil bunkering suspects and their vessels within Krakrama Community and not invasion as alleged.

He vehemently condemned earlier statement by the people of Krakrama Community in Asari-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State, accusing Bille people of invading their old settlement near Bille Kingdom.

Chief Okuro Digbani also clarified that workers under the security outfit were drawn from various communities in the State and that the operational headquarters is being sited at Bille, and that the company’s operations are directed by the federal government, Nigeria National Petroleum Cooperation (NNPC) and their subsidiaries hence it is absolutely wrong for anybody or community to blackmail or attribute to Bille Kingdom whenever the security outfit clamps down on suspected thieves.

Chief Digbani used the medium to implore government authorities, security agencies and the general public to discountenance the purported allegation by the Krakrama Community, adding that it is a deliberate move to cover up illicit activities.
