A former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has reacted to the announcement by Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) to step down as senior pastor of the church for now.

Pastor Fatoyinbo following allegations by Busola Dakolo, wife of singer Timi Dakolo, that she raped her as a teenager while growing up in Ilorin, Kwara state.

Although Fatoyinbo had denied the allegation and even threatened a lawsuit, he announced via his Instagram page on Monday, his decision to “take a leave of absence of the pulpit” — After due consultations with his spiritual leaders worldwide.

Reacting to the news, Fani-Kayode hailed the cleric for the decision, adding that if there’s anything one can’t take away from Pastor Biodun is that he is a really good preacher who loves God.

Fani-Kayode said he prays the cleric rises again, in his post via his Twitter handle on Monday.

His words: At least Biodun Fatunyibo had the decency and courage to step down. How many others can do that? I have worshipped at COZA and whatever anyone may say about that young man he really is a very good preacher. He also loves God! I am praying for him! He shall rise again!
