FCE(T) Omoku Mourns Former College Governing Council Chairman

The Federal College of Education (Technical) Omoku Rivers State is in a mourning mood following the death of the former Chairman of the College Governing Council, Chief Linus Emonshe Okom.

The late Chief Okom was the 5th Governing Council Chairman of the College from 2013-2015 and has the traditional chieftaincy title of “Ada Ebekwarra” Cross River State died on 9th January 2021 following a brief illness.

The Provost of the College, Sir Dr. Emmanuel Ikenyiri in a condolence message to the government and people of Cross River State especially the bereaved family said the College was thrown into grief when they received the news of the death of the former council chairman whom he noted served the College meritoriously with dignity.

According to the Provost, the death of Chief Linus Okom is very painful as he died when his services and fatherly tutelage were needed by the College but thanked Almighty God for all he did while alive.

He therefore prayed Almighty God to console the immediate bereaved family and as well grant the soul of the departed eternal rest.

A press statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the College, Prince Charles Amadike-Otoboh, stated that the College on hearing the demise of the former Governing Council Chairman, Management declared a 4-day mourning with the College flag at half mast throughout the mourning period while a condolence register was opened at the Administrative Block (seat of power) in honour of the departed former Council Chairman.

According to the statement, late Chief Linus Okom will be committed to mother earth on Friday 29th January at his home town, Nyanya in Bekwarra Local Government Area of Cross River State.
