Rivers Assembly Condemns Spate Of Criminal Activities
The Rivers State House of Assembly has condemned in strong terms the Spate of criminal activities in the state and country at large.
The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Ikuinyi Owaji Ibani made the condemnation at the commencement of plenary on the floor of the House.
He noted that the activities of criminal elements which include kidnapping, raping and killing of innocent citizens who go about doing their lawful duties have become so worrisome.
He maintained that the 9th assembly has also frowned at the tendency of the youths to engage in such activities and urged all who indulge in criminal activities to turn a new leaf.
He noted that as representatives of the people members of the 9th assembly cannot but condemn the activities which according to him do no good to any society.
He stressed the need to ensure that the efforts of the Government in protecting the lives and properties of the people and those who reside in the state is abetted.
He expressed hope that sooner or later all forms of criminal activities will be a thing of the past in the state and prayed for a peaceful co-exixtence of Rivers residents.
