Unknown Gunmen Kill 58yr Old Man In Ogoni Community

Unknown Gunmen last Sunday invaded Kono-Boue community in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State and reportedly killed one Nkpa Awolowo, said to be in his fifties.

We gathered that the gunmen, numbering six invaded the community about 8:00pm in the evening and reportedly shot sporadically before they went to Mr Nkpa and shot him dead.

We learned that the whole community was in chaos as natives scampered for safety.

Some natives who ran into the bush where also injured, our source disclosed.

The source revealed that the unknown gunmen were dislodged by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Bori Division who arrived on time and engaged the hoodlums in a shootout that made the hoodlums to flee.

Unconfirmed source disclosed that some of the hoodlums escaped with bullet wounds.

The spokesperson of Rivers State Police command, SP Nnamdi Omoni was yet to respond to our enquiry on the matter.

It would be recalled that three suspected kidnappers/cultists accused of being responsible for armed robbery, kidnapping and cultism matters were shot dead in Boue last month in a fierce gun battle with Police officers of Bori Police Division.
