…As RISAA Boss Bags Award For Good Governance

…Restates Commitment To Efficient Service Delivery

The dogged determination of the Acting Managing Director of the Rivers State Signage and Advertising Agency (RISAA), Chief (Hon) Anthony Okeah to reposition the Agency for excellent service delivery has continued to receive applause and accolades from the populace.

This, again came to the fore as principal officers of the Rivers State Youth Leaders Assembly  on Monday, during a courtesy visit, presented him an award of ‘Good Governance and Excellence’ following impressive innovations being put in place at the outboard advertising regulation agency.

Led on the visit by the leader and Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Amb) Prince Tonye Jeminimiema, the group said Okeah was chosen for the award after careful perusal at his pedigree and unblemished career accomplishments.

The Speaker said the Assembly, which is the umbrella body of all youth organizations in Rivers State, noted with pleasure that the RISAA boss in the course of performing his duties, proved himself as “Youth General”, a leading light and beacon of hope for youths in the State.

“Sir, this great Assembly of youth leaders, consisting over 50 youth organizations with 5 million members across Rivers State, considered your noble person for this prestigious award.

“It is a meritorious award as you have diligently proven yourself in your fields of endeavor.

“From your days as House Committee Chairman on Works at the Rivers State House of Assembly the Rivers State House of Assembly representing Obio/Akpor Constituency 2, to this glorious moment as Acting Managing Director of RISAA, you have never ceased to carry the youths of our dear State along.

“You have always demonstrated that the development of the youths is paramount in your heart”, Jeminimiema declared, adding that the award should inspire Okeah to greater accomplishments in his endeavors.

Responding, an elated Okeah thanked the group for finding him deserving of the award and commended them for the laudable initiative, assuring that he would continue to tread the path of development for the youths and State.

He pledged unrelenting quest to improve the fortunes of the Agency and the State through standardization of billboards and creation of beautiful scenery across the state through signage and outdoor advertisements.

As youths, the RISAA boss urged them to key into the platform of Governor Wike’s security initiative (Operation Sting) and support the ongoing war against criminality in the State

He described the formation of the Rivers State Youths Leaders Assembly as laudable, noting that the body was registered in 2015 being the same year the law establishing the RISAA was codified.

“I urge you all to use this platform and disseminate the idea of our Governor regarding the Operation Sting initiative. As you know, this security challenges are not peculiar to our State. It is happening across the country but our Governor in his good wisdom has put this security initiative in place.  Take the message home and, like our Governor would always say, ‘enough is enough’”, he said.
