Be Good Ambassadors, Monarch Tells Students, Youth Council

…Receives ‘Most Youth Friendly King’ Award

The Amanyanabo of ancient Ele Kingdom in Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area of Rivers State, King Felix Tamunoseipiriala Okuru, Apina VII, has appealed to Wakirike Students’ Union (WASU), Port-Harcourt Polytechnic Chapter and members of National Youth Council of Nigeria, Ogu/Bolo Chapter to be good ambassadors of their families, communities, the state and the nation in general.

King Okuru made the appeal when the two groups paid him a courtesy visit in his palace in Port-Harcourt on Friday where National Youth Council, Ogu/Bolo chapter bestowed on him “Most Youth Friendly King” and “Ruler of the Youths” awards.

He also advised members of the two groups to shun all vices harmful to society saying that they are leaders of tomorrow.

He advised them to take their destiny in their hands and plan for tomorrow and reiterated the need for kings and chiefs to always carry them along in the scheme of things.

The traditional ruler said he operates an open-door policy and always ready to assist the youths achieve their set objectives and charged them to carry out their activities with all seriousness and aim at the sky to be their limit.

King Okuru who assured them in their requests promised to give scholarship to Ele sons and daughters who want to read law in higher institutions, and thanked them for the visit which he said was worth doing and for the honour bestowed on him as “Most Youth Friendly King” and “Ruler of the Youths Award”, saying that the award would spur him to do more.

Also speaking, the Secretary, Ele Divisional Council of Chiefs, Chief Tamunosiki Friday Tiene Peritiene, Community Development Committee (CDC) Chairman of Ele Kingdom, Elder Daju Atamuno, Elder Gospel Imbu and Hon. Minaseichinbo Fiberesima, advised them to be patriotic, loyal and supportive to the authorities and take their studios seriously to do their community proud and tolerate each other, shun social vices, unite and work towards goals for people to have confidence in them adding that they should maintain peaceful co-existence at all times.

Earlier, President of Wakirike Students’ Union, Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic chapter, Comrade Daju Emmanuel Aberemieka and the Chairman of National Youth Council, Ogu/Bolo chapter, Comrade Nick Lawson Omiebi, thanked the king for warm reception and open-door administration assuring that they will live up to expectation as leaders of tomorrow.

They highlighted some activities lined up and challenges facing them in their school and appealed for assistance and also pledged their unalloyed loyalty and support to King Okuru and prayed for God’s protection, knowledge and courage to make his reign remarkable and successful.
