The Diobu District of the Eternal Sacred Order of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, No 9 Akokwa Street, Mile Two has ended its maiden Adoption/Thanksgiving Service in grand style.

Senior Apostle Karibo Briggs in the seminar on “Church Growth, Strategy and its Challenges in ESOCS Church” stated that since the church is a living organism, it is natural for it to grow, all things being equal both numerically and impactation.

The man of God however disclosed that some churches don’t grow simply because the leadership gets too comfortable with the ways things are done and so does nothing to change the status quo.

He listed some of the factors that enhances the growth of the church to include, holy ghost, prayers, discipleship, angelic and the great commission factor which says “let by your manners call on others to come”.

He made it clear that church growth strategy is all about soul-winning and growth which he noted, is the heart beat of God.

Delivering his sermon on the Sunday Service, which theme was “Building on the First-Fruit of the Spirit”, (Rom. 8:13-24), Supervising Apostle Joel Alozie stated that the foundation of every church is based on love and spirituality, adding that since God Almighty is a Spirit, and that those who want to worship Him must do so in spirit and in truth.

According to him, “Adoption scripturally means that we have been considered and adopted into the fold of Christ, to be equal heirs into the family of God. It therefore behooves on us to appreciate this offer and emulate the footsteps of Christ both in attitude and character”, he declared.

He stated further that Adoption Thanksgiving Service has its own spiritual blessings and that only those who build on this first fruit of the spirit through their commitments will receive these all round blessings.

The man of God used the opportunity to admonish Christians to endeavour to worship God their creator, with all their strengths and resources as their eyes are focused on the kingdom of God.

Earlier in his address, the chairman, Diobu District, Senior Apostle Samuel Ekemeke Chukundah (KDA) said that it is important for members to use the opportunity of the Adoption Service to reflect on how to rebuild their relationship with God Almighty.

He reiterated the promise of his administration during its inauguration to produce kingdom bound citizens with all resources available to him.

Chukundah equally used the opportunity to pay glowing tributes to his predecessors in office and other devouted leaders for their contributions in the church growth and pledged to consolidate on their achievements.

He also urged members not to lose sight of the challenges confronting the District administrators especially that of acquiring a befitting prayer houses for its branches with modern facilities.

“Above all, I urge you to consolidate on the foundation of love, truth and peaceful co-existence beaquated on us” he declared.

It would be recalled that the Diobu District of the Diobu Province of ESOCS, comprising of Akokwa, Egwum-Abali and Mgbuoshimini branches was created on July 1st, 2018 as part of the church expansion programme.
