Women Tasked on Self-Reliance

Women have been urged to recreate a new mindset towards becoming financially independent and self -reliant.

Founder Purple Signet Development Foundation, Natalie Usen made the call during the third edition of her Re-Orientation Empowerment and Development Programme (RED) for women and the girl-child in Port -Harcourt.

Speaking on the topic “Women who Change the World”, she stressed the need for women to have a determined goal towards self-esteem, entrepreneurship, leadership skills and financial independence.

She urged women to identify themselves as worthy and dependable group in the society in order to develop better value system and become productive.

Usen further appealed for collective efforts from public and private sectors to help in enpowering women and by extension the society.

In their separate lectures, Ngozika Vivian enjoined women to be bold enough to change above socio cultural limitations, while Kalada Apiafi stressed the need to develop the personal will power and determination for achieving success.

On her part, Mrs Patience Ogelebor advised women to nurture and develop their ideas of businesses with dedication and discipline.

Appreciating the founder of Purple Signet Development Foundation, Natalie Usen for her efforts in empowering women, participants revealed that the programme which featured various free skills acquisition has made them to realise their self-worth and sense of purpose in society.
