Christians have been urged to cling unto their faith in God as they complement it with works.
Delivering the sermon at the Foundation Faith Church, Oyigbo, Rev’d Okey Dick said that faith without work is useless.
The man of God who is now the Bishop-elect of the church made it clear that as government is expecting Revenue from the citizenry, so is God Almighty expecting true Christians to be real born again who preoccupy themselves with conversion of souls for the kingdom of God, stressing that Heaven and Hell are real.
He also disclosed further that children are inheritance of God and that it is important they are brought up properly in the fear of God in appreciation.
The celebrant, Hon. Prince Gerald Oforji Executive Chairman of Oyigbo Local Government Area of Rivers State said he was overwhelmed with joy for the arrival of his beautiful daughter, Princess Kimberly Kosisochukwu Oforji.
“This baby is a special gift from God to the Oforji political dynasty and her arrival few days after our amiable Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike was declared winner in the tension-soaked 2019 governorship election, most significant and so it would not be out of place if I say the celebration is a continuation of the victory party”, he stated.
In their separate interviews Mrs. Chinwe Oforji, wife of the council boss and her mother-in-law and former first lady of the council, Lady Blessing Oforji said they were so excited and grateful to God for the safe arrival of the baby whom they said has brought a lot of good tidings to the family.
They used the opportunity to thank the Oyigbo people and residents for their prayers, support and confidence reposed in the Oforji family and promised not to disappoint them.
Dignitaries from all works of life graced the occasion including some local government chairmen with their spouses.
In another development, stakeholders and opinion leaders of Oyigbo and Asa Clan have constituted and inaugurated a 20-man executives under the aegis of Oyigbo/Asa United Forum (OAUF) under the leadership of Comrade Felix Ibekwe Nwogu with a mandate to unite all the warring factions in the land as a result of politics and other crisis with a view to restoring peace and development in the clan.
Speaking with newsmen shortly after the inauguration of the body which took place over the weekend at Oyigbo, the Forum’s chairman, Comr. Nwogu said that stakeholders of the communities including Mininwanyi, Obeama, Umusia, Umualeke and Oyigbo having realized the importance of peaceful co-existence in the progress and development of their land, decided to come up with the idea of forming a central body to unite the people and restore peace which he noted is panacea for development.
He promised on behalf of his Exco members not to disappoint the confidence repose on them but work assiduously to deliver on their mandate.
