Banigo Pledges Gov’t Commitment To Actualize God’s Kingdom In Rivers
The Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Dr. Mrs. Ipalibo Harry Banigo has pledged the commitment of the State government towards actualizing the Kingdom of God in the State.
The Deputy Governor who stated this during a special thanksgiving service to end this year’s Sunday School Conference of the Niger Delta Diocese of the Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion at the Alfred Diette-Spiff Civic Center, Moscow Road in Port Harcourt on Sunday.
Mrs. Banigo said government would do whatever it takes to grow God’s kingdom and to convert more souls into the kingdom of God, adding that hell is real even as heaven is also real.
She emphasized that the trumpet of the God shall sound and the Lord will be here very soon to take His people.
The Deputy Governor who is also a Lay Reader and a Sunday School Advisor in the Anglican Communion said: “Our desire and passion is to see that every single soul makes heaven because hell is not a place God created for humans and for every soul that is won, there is rejoicing in heaven. So I encourage all of us to continue in this work of growing God’s kingdom and making it a reality in our state”.
She thanked all the Anglican Bishops in the state for organizing a thanksgiving service to rejoice on the second tenure inauguration of Governor Wike and herself.
In his sermon drawn from 2 Timothy 2:19, the Bishop, Diocese of Mbamiri, Rt. Rev. Henry Okeke said God is looking for people to work with, stating that willingness and availability is important to the work of God.
He went further to open up that God would not force his way into our lives rather He is looking for a man with a regenerated heart who is recreated and has an uncommon love for His work.
“God is looking for a man with a desire to say no to sin and a man with a heart like that of a shepherd”, the Bishop preached.
Also speaking at the service, the Bishop of the Niger Delta Diocese, Rt. Rev. Ralph Cornelius Ebinion expressed appreciation for all who made the conference a success and prayed God dto shower His blessing upon them.
The Chairman of the Sunday School Conference who was newly elected, Barrister Ishmael Blue-Jack stated that Sunday school is primarily the vision of the Holy Spirit, emphasizing that the confidence of the members of the conference lies in the fact that God Almighty is in control of the Sunday School Conference.
