Woman In Police Net Over Disappearance Of Grandchildren

The Rivers State Police Command has arrested a grandmother over the sudden disappearance of two of her grand children in Port Harcourt.

A source under anonymity told the National Network on Tuesday that the lady had brought her two grandchildren from Akwa-Ibom State to spend the long vacation in Port Harcourt.

The source said that the two children who accompanied a 13 year boy to buy biscuits from a nearby store allegedly disappeared in the process.

The source  further stated that the 13 year old boy disclosed that while they were on their way to buy the biscuits, an unknown lady trailed them to the store and allegedly snatched the two children from him and disappeared to an unknown destination.

The source noted that the 13 year old boy said that the lady allegedly cast a spell and hypnotized him before taking away the children.

According to the source the father of the children on receiving information about the alleged theft of his children came to Port Harcourt and lodged complaint at the Mile One Divisional Police Station in Port Harcourt leading to the arrest of the grandmother and another occupant of their yard where they reside.

Meanwhile efforts made to reach the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Nnamdi Omoni to confirm the incident proved abortive.

It would be recalled that incident of child theft and teenage prostitution were on the increase in Port Harcourt in 2018.
