NURTW Celebrates Electoral  Victory Of Chairman Kalango

The National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Rivers State Chapter has been basking in the euphoria of the electoral victory of her State Chairman, Pastor O.D. Kalango who was elected the South-South National Vice Chairman of the Union at the triennial delegate conference held in Abuja recently.

The former national treasurer of the union, Alhaji (Prof) Tajudeen Ibikunle Baruwa was also elected the new National Chairman alongside other national officers promised to build on the achievement of his predecessors.

Speaking with newsmen on arrival from Abuja over the weekend, Pastor Kalango said that with the team of officers elected, the union is set to move to the next level.

He further disclosed that the Rivers State government and his union has a perfect working relationship to move the state forward.

According to him, “the NURTW was duly consulted and our inputs considered before the constitution and inauguration of the Task Force on street traders, illegal motor parks and markets to show you the extent of our cooperation,” he stated.

The General Overseer of the Glory Christ Ministry, Port Harcourt also disclosed that the union was concluding arrangement to go for a thanksgiving church service in commemoration of the successful election which he noted was hectic.

The State Chairman also stated that the election of the Rivers State chapter of the union to usher in new officials is underway and urged interested members to put their papers in order for the contest.

Pastor Kalango used the opportunity to congratulate the Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike for a successful 100 days in office with its attendant projects commissioning and advised him to be focused in the delivery of democracy divided, assuring him of his union’s support at all times. He also advised the governor to give priority attention to what he called “stomach infrastructures” in this second tenure of his administration to complement his effort in the roads infrastructural development.
