A woman whose identity is yet to be ascertained has been strangled to death in a hotel room in Rivers State.
The incident, it was gathered happened in hotel situated along Obo road, Omoku, Ogba/Egbema/ Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State on Saturday.
It was learnt that the victim, a teenager and her partner lodged in the hotel before she was found dead.
An eyewitness who identified himself only as Peter told The PUNCH that the victim’s hands and legs were both bound with a white cloth.
Peter added that a white cloth was also seen tied around her neck.
“The girl is just a teenager, we found her corpse lying with her clothes on yesterday evening in the hotel room, her killer was nowhere to be found. Her hands were tied behind her back with a white cloth, as well as her legs and neck.
“The girl was taken to the hotel room in Obo road, by her partner, who killed her on top of the hotel bed and ran away,” Peter added.
When contacted, the Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Nnamdi Omoni confirmed the incident, adding that the identity of the victim was yet to be ascertained.
Omoni stated that the commissioner of police had ordered an investigation into the incident.
“Yes the incident happened in Omoku but we are yet to ascertain the identity of the victim, who is a young lady.
“The Commissioner of Police had ordered an investigation into the to unravel the culprit.”
