Rivers PASAN Gets New Leadership
The Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN), Rivers State House of Assembly chapter has gotten a new leadership to pilot it’s affairs.
The new leadership emerged through an electoral process that was supervised by the national officers of the organization.
Speaking shortly after her emergence as the new chairman of Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria, Rivers State chapter, Comfort Opuene told journalists that welfare of parliamentary staff will be given priority .
The new chairman who spoke on behalf of the newly elected executives called on the contestants to joint hands to move the association forward and promised to consolidate on the achievements of the previous leadership.
In his remarks, the National President of PASAN, Muhammed Usman represented by South-South ex officio Sisio Reginald tasked them on the autonomy of the legislature and better working conditions of members which he stressed must be at par with what is obtainable at the National Assembly.
He further urged them to ensure that they work and serve for the benefit of PASAN members.
Meanwhile, the Zonal Vice President of PASAN Okeleke Louis who is a former state chairman reminded them of their responsibilities as enshrined by the law as well as members’ expectations from them.
Other elected executive members include, Otarji Simipre as Vice chairman, Ammonia Amado as Secretary, Friday Ekpo as Assistant Secretary, and Ejor Nwafor as Treasurer.
