Taskforce On Street Trading Should Not Intimidate People – Traditional Ruler

…Commends Gov. Wike For “Extraordinary” Achievements

A traditional ruler in Rivers State has advised members of the taskforce on street trading, illegal motorparks and markets to avoid intimidating people in the course of their job.

His Royal Highness Owabie Tobin who gave the advice in an interview in Port-Harcourt also said members of the taskforce should not have criminal intent as they do their job, saying they should only carry out responsibilities assigned them by the state government.

His Royal Highness Tobin who is Eze Onumini I, Nkpolu Abali of Mgbundukwu Community, Mile I and II, Diobu in Port-Harcourt City Local Government Area praised the governor of Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Wike, for setting up the taskforce saying it has restored the capital city to its garden city status.

Meanwhile, His Royal Highness Tobin has praised Governor Wike for his “extraordinary” achievements in the state.

He said Governor Wike has received so many awards because of his performance adding Vice President Yemi Osinbajo called him Mr Projects because of his good performance as governor of Rivers State.

He said Wike has interest of Rivers State at heart and done extraordinary things in the state.

According to him, Governor Wike has people of Rivers State in mind and has transformed the state, and used the occasion to congratulate him on Nigeria’s 59th Independence Anniversary.

Meanwhile, the traditional ruler also used the occasion to advise members of All Progressives’ Congress in Rivers State to work together and remain united ahead of 2023 general elections.

He said he gave the advice based on his position as royal “father” to all political parties in Rivers State, saying that the leadership of All Progressives’ Congress in the state should settle the crisis with the party.

He said the leader of the party in the state and Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi, should involve other members of the party in decision-making to avoid crisis in the party.

The traditional ruler also said National Working Committee of All Progressives’ Congress should first solve the problem within the party in Rivers State before it should conduct new party congresses.
