Meanwhile, in an exclusive chat with the founder and General Overseer of the Royal House of Grace International Church, Apostle King David Zilly Aggrey, shortly after the event at the church headquarters in Port Harcourt, he stated that looking back 27 years ago, that God has been faithful to him and the ministry.
According to him, “27 years of starting this work with 15 persons and 27 years later to the glory of God, the work is still standing and has grown beyond the first time we started. We are also very optimistic that if the Lord tarries, He will do better and greater things for us.”
On the challenges faced in the past years, Apostle Aggrey said that any work which is done in the name of the Lord without challenges Satan is not interested in such a project. When asked to list some of the challenges, the man of God said it was a period of making people, especially those who knew his background to believe in his vision.
“You know when one is in the environment where he or she grew up , it is difficult to say I am now a born again. Those who know you will find it difficult to believe you. However, over the years we have been able to build some sort of trust and confidence among the people and so we have overcome those challenges relatively.”
On his achievements so far, the renowned man of God said that the ministry has been able to impact lives both spiritually and physically.
He said: “We have seen lots of people who got saved through our radio and television programmes, we have given scholarship to people and opened over 30 branches of the church nationally and internationally.”
The G.O also stated that the church had used its platform to reach out to the less privileged people through charity works and as well raised persons to become mighty men of God to the surprise of many.
He further disclosed that one of the church’s cardinal duties is training and posting more pastors to the new branches to take charge. This, he said, “it is a disaster to send an immature person to be in charge of a new church branch”.
On why there are crisis in the churches nowadays, Apostle Aggrey said it is a normal phenomenon. “There is no perfect human organization, it is only in heaven you can find that setting. It is the reality of life, even the man who wrote three quarter of the Bible, Apostle Paul, he had a contention,” he asserted.
He however, advised that there should be a quick reconciliation as fast as possible whenever issues crop up in the body of Christ. According to him, “misunderstanding is a by-product of human relationship”.
But, he expressed optimism that the situation can be controlled, avoided or handled, adding that is why there is discipline in the university for special courses such as Conflict Resolution in Human Management because definitely in human society conflict is unavoidable.
On the controversies surrounding preaching of salvation message on one hand and others who focused on prosperity message, Apostle Aggrey concluded by saying that salvation is the total gospel.
He illustrated the situation thus : “When an orange is cut into two, one would discover many seeds inside it. These seeds represent joy, peace, prosperity, success inside the whole,” he maintained.
