Reports reaching National Network newspaper indicate that there is anxiety over alleged disappearance of one Mr. Prince Fubara from the custody of the 6 Division Nigerian Army headquarters, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Prince Fubara, a native of Owerewere, Emughan in Abua central was reported to have been arrested by men of the Nigerian Army on 14th October 2018 at County State School ,Abua central, Abua/Odual local Government area of the State while playing football.
A member of the family, Mr. Francis Oporo who is an in-law to Mr Fubara explained that the suspect was seen last on 18th of October 2018 when the family went to the headquarters of 6 Division of Nigerian Army.
He revealed that the name of the thirty-one year old suspect was on the list of arrested suspects and they saw him in military custody. According to the family source, the Army authority told them that Mr. Fubara had been transferred to 16 Brigade Nigerian Army in Bayelsa State when next they came for visit.
Mr Okporo stated that on their arrival to Bayelsa state, the Brigade command where the Army authority in Port Harcourt claimed to have transferred the suspect to, denied knowledge of such person in their custody.
The in-law to the suspect explained that the whereabouts of Mr Fubara Prince who was arrested by the Army and seen four days after arrest still in army custody remains unknown up to date. He further explained that the Army declined to disclose the alleged offence of the suspect even the day he was seen by his family in the custody of the Military.
The acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, 6 Division Nigerian Army, Major Charles Ekeocha was yet to respond to text messages sent on enquiries into the claims by the family of Fubara.
6 Division Nigerian Army comprises of the Army Brigade in Akwa/Ibom, Cross Rivers, Bayelsa and Rivers States with its headquarters in Port Harcourt with a General Officer Commanding (GOC) the Division presiding over the four states.
