Delga Council Boss Promises Power Supply By December
The chairman of Degema Local Council, Hon. Tony Philmoore, has promised the people of Bakana and Ogurama (Bakana) communities in the Local Government Areas of uninterrupted power supply before the end of 2019.
The council boss said his council had acquired through a public private partnership the technology to generate, transmit and distribute electricity to end-users in Bakana and Ogurama, adding that the site for the installation of the prefabricated plant was ready and the technology partners on their way to begin installation.
Dr. Philmoore also said his administration is committed to its free tertiary education programme and would commence payment after harmonizing records with the schools, having done with the crucial phase of identification and verification.
The council boss also echoed on his resolve to tackle insecurity, stating that he had procured the cooperation of soldiers stationed in the local government area to escort Bille passenger boars to and from Port Harcourt on daily basis, reiterating his earlier promise to make the yuletide peaceful, secure and safe for both sea and road travelers.
Mr. Harvest Harry commended the council boss for his signature project, the free tertiary education programme and commended him for the bold step while describing the programmed as unprecedented.
He also commended Dr. Philmoore on his foresight to invest in independent power project that would provide constant electricity for Bakana and Ogurama.
Mr. Harry also urged the council chairman to bolster the security architecture in Degema local government area, especially as the yuletide approaches in order to checkmate unwholesome security breaches during the end of the year celebrations.
