OPM Builds More Rehabilitation Centres For Recovered Souls
As the need arises and as both government and security agencies reckon with the rehabilitation efforts of Omega Power Ministries (OPM), the Church on Monday, December 9, 2019 commissioned yet another rehabilitation centre in Omuokiri Aluu, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.
This is the 5th rehabilitation centre built by OPM since the conception of the idea of helping to rid the streets of undesirable elements and deviants such as armed robbers, cultists, kidnappers, commercial sex hawkers etc which has tremendously paid off, resulting in rehabilitation of thousands of youths.
Commissioning the Omuokiri Rehabilitation Centre Monday, the General Overseer of OPM, Apostle (Dr.) Gift Chibuzor Chinyere said the motive behind his efforts is to ensure a crime free society particularly in Rivers State, where people can sleep with their two eyes closed, girls no longer raped, unsuspecting members of the public no longer abducted and subjected to inhuman treatment and cult-related activities eradicated.
Apostle Chinyere said his efforts and faith step from the unmerited favour of God who lifted him from grass to grace and entrusted to him over 200 branches of OPM worldwide with more than 5000 staff etc.
The OPM rehabilitation efforts, the man of God said, do not only end in providing the inmates with accommodation and feeding but also prepare them for physical and spiritual attainments by teaching them relevant skills of their choice, sending some to schools (Primary, Secondary and University), providing funds for some to start own businesses, finding jobs for some within and outside Nigeria and above all, taking them on the path of spiritual revival.
Having been equipped with OPM discharge certificates in various skills which are recognized by both the private and public sectors of the economy according to OPM G.O, he urged the beneficiaries to remain committed to their skills and spiritual obligations as any attempt to go back to their old ways has very unpleasant consequences.
Also speaking during the commissioning ceremony, the media officer to OPM G.O., and former Caretaker Committee Chairman of Andoni Local Government Council, Hon Gogo-Ogute Isaiah, noted that the OPM Foundation had shown so much commitment to the rehabilitation of former hoodlums that government, security agencies and courts now send convicts to OPM rehabilitation centres for reformation.
Hon. Isaiah cited the case of one Kingsley Jacob from Akwa Ibom State who was recently sent for six months rehabilitation at OPM rehabilitation centre by a Port Harcourt Magistrate Court.
Recounting the breakthroughs of the OPM Rehabilitation Centres, the OPM image maker said the project has among others, helped in mopping up arms and ammunition from the repented cultists and armed robbers which were handed over to the relevant security agencies partnering with the OPM.
