The people of Ayi Community in Abua/Odual Local Government Area has petitioned Nigeria Agip Oil Company (NAOC) over issues pertaining to human rights and humanitarian law.
Presenting the petition unbehalf of the community, the lawmaker representing Abua/Odual constituency, Hon. Solomon Sokolo informed the House of NAOC’s consistent breach of MOU and prayed the House to look into it and resolve the matter amicably.
Speaker Ikuiyi Owaji Ibani at the end of debate on the petition referred it to House Committee on Public Complaints and Petition.
Meanwhile, Majority Leader Martin Amaewhule has presented the report of the Auditor General of Rivers state for the Fiscal year, December 2018.
According to him, the document is a 76 page document that details the financial activity of the state in the year under review.
Speaker Ikwuiyi Owaji Ibani referred the report to Public Accounts Committee for appropriate action.
In a related development the 2020 Appropriation Bill has passed second reading on the floor of the Rivers state House of Assembly.
The speaker of the house Ikuiyi Owaji Ibani directed members to digest the budget for thorough understanding and prepare for next legislative day when debate will commence.
