OSPAC Personnel In Trouble Over Destruction Of Property

Some personnel of Onelga Security and Planning Committee (OSPAC) in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State are telling the police what they know about the destruction of property worth millions of naira in the area.

The OSPAC personnel were fingered in alleged destruction of the house of the chairman of the Community Development Committee (CDC) Augustine Azuwone as well as property belonging to other identified persons in the area.

In a chat with newsmen in Port Harcourt, the CDC chairman explained that he was in his house last Saturday night when people suspected to be OSPAC members invaded his compound and attempted forcing their selves in, but could not because of the burglary proof.

Mr. Azuwone said the suspected OSPAC members shattered the glasses in his house in an attempt to have their way.

He further revealed that the houses of other people who are perceived to be his supporters were also destroyed.

The CDC chairman disclosed that the latest attack on him and some members of the community was due to his insistence that OSPAC members must go for profiling as directed by the council chairman before they will continue their operation.

As at press time, we gathered that members of the local vigilante may have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Port Harcourt.

The spokesperson of the State Police Command, SP Nnamdi Omoni was yet to respond to messages sent him before filling this report.
