Federal lawmaker representing Khana/Gokana Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Dumnamene Robinson Dekor has been voted Lawmaker of the Year 2022 (federal).
The bestowment by Trendsetters Award (TSA) was announced on Monday by Chief Executive Officer, Amb. Gloria Boma Harry while briefing journalists in Port Harcourt.
Recall that Rt. Hon. Deekor who is the House Committee Chairman on Host Communities in 2021 bagged the prestigious DMOMA Awards Lawmaker of the Year.
Amb. Harry said the participation of voters in making the decision on who wins what, was overwhelming, as over four million votes were recorded in this year’s voting process.
She disclosed that since the inception of the Trendsetters Award in 2019, the organisers witnessed in this year’s edition, increased interaction with nominees and nomination of people from other States.
She expressed delight that TSA has gained International recognition as people voted massively from different parts of the world, for their preferred nominees in various categories.
Harry, observed that despite efforts by some unscrupulous persons to engage in unethical practices such as spamming and other malicious cyber activities, Trendsetters Awards, was able to tackle the challenges as they occurred.
She however, expressed concern that people could engage in such unethical practices just to win an award, thanking participants for their patience during those periods when such attacks occurred, while assuring them of a hitch free process in 2023.
She congratulated those who were voted to receive the TSA Awards, and commended others who did not emerge victorious for making the list of nominees.
Stating further that ‘every nominee is a winner because they were chosen from a poll of individuals who are in the same field of endeavor as they are, but regrettably only one winner can emerge in each category.’
She expressed gratitude to God for the successful end of the voting phase and thanked her team for a job well done.
Among other categories of awards announced by Trendsetters, was Newspaper of the Year which was won by National Network newspaper.
