Cmdr. Rissi Bags Meritorious Award Of Excellence

…As Father Celebrates 100 Years Birthday

The Deputy National Commandant, Man O’ War Nigeria, Cmdr. Kriss Natty Rissi has added yet another feather to his cap.

Recently, he bagged a meritorious Award of Excellence from the Grassroot Journalists Association (GJA) in Rivers State for his doggedness and superlative performance on his duties.

At the award presentation which coincided with the in-house celebration of 100th birthday Anniversary of Chief Darius Wodi Rissi, “Ojiowhor I” of Oro-Rissi in Elelenwo (the family) said the celebration was in appreciation to God for the protection granted the larger Rissi family and in particular the attainment of centenary by their patriarch.

The Rissi family used the opportunity to pray for their continuous peace, unity and long life.

They equally used the chance to reconcile their age long differences which most of them noted, is inevitable in a polygamous family.

Pa Rissi expressed happiness for God protecting him to celebrate 100 years on earth and used the opportunity to reconcile and celebrate with his family members.

He also thanked the journalists who honoured his son for his performance on his security job and prayed God to continue to favour everybody who according to him “is involved in good works”. He further advised that there is nothing like good name, that people should guard their integrity jealously.

The Awardee, Cmdr. Kriss Rissi  said he was overwhelmed by the recognition accorded him adding that he never knew that some persons were observing what he was doing in course of his duties. He said the honour will spur him to put more efforts in his duties.

According to a member of the family, Mr. Loveday Rissi, “today marks the end of our squabbles and the beginning of a new chapter in our lives”.

He promised to turn a new leaf and pleaded for forgiveness from those he had wronged in the years past.

Man ‘O’ War Unit Commander, Mr. Philip Uko in his speech, expressed delight for Pa Rissi attainment of 100 years and still healthy, strong and mentally alert among his children and grand children.

He also expressed gratitude to God for the honour done his boss, pointing out that this is the first time the position is being occupied by anybody from the Niger Delta region and prayed God for continuous protection for all.

He used the opportunity to appeal to Cmdr. Rissi to utilize the opportunity at his disposal very well by ensuring that the jobless youths, especially from his Elelenwo Community are engaged in one way or the other for them to feel his impact.

Cmdr. Uko once more reiterated the commitment and support of his Man O’War Unit for their boss continuous growth in the service.
