Police Arrest Phone Repairer For Allegedly Being In PossessionOf Handset Of Kidnapped Victim
A GSM phone repairer, Kenneth Nmanee is now telling the police what he knows about a kidnap incident for allegedly being in possession of a handset which belongs to a female kidnapped victim presently in the hands of her abductors.
We gathered that one of the members of the kidnap syndicate who was arrested by the Bori Divisional Police took the law enforcement officers to the shop of the phone repairer last Saturday.
After the woman was kidnapped, her phone was confiscated by the kidnappers who allegedly gave it to Mr Kenneth to wipe out all the contacts and other applications contained in it.
Unconfirmed report also has it that the kidnappers have vowed not to release the female victim except the Police free their members in their custody.
Our reporter further learnt that the suspect has been transferred to anti-kidnapping Police unit at Mini-Okoro, Port Harcourt for further investigations.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the Rivers State Police Command, DSP Nnamdi Omoni, was yet to respond to text messages sent to his mobile line by our reporter at the time of filing in this report.
