Uncertainty Trails Whereabouts Of Bodo Youth President
Reports from Bodo Community in Gokana Local Government Area indicate growing fears over the whereabouts of Bodo Youth President, Kpobari Patai, days after he was reportedly kidnapped in the community.
Sources in the community told National Network that unknown gunmen stormed the Youth President’s house in the community and reportedly shot him severally before whisking him away.
Natives who visited his house in the morning revealed that there were blood stains all over the place.
Mr. Monday Gbigha a Human Rights activist in the LGA told National Network that there was tension in the community following reports of shooting and abduction of the Youth President, adding that the whereabouts of the Youth President is still unknown after the incident.
The missing youth leader had in an exclusive interview with our reporter last year, accused some unnamed politicians of sponsoring three opposing cult groups in Bodo which constantly led to cult clashes in the village.
He explained that some powerful politicians who have interest in the control of illegal bunkering activities in the area were sponsoring and arming cult groups to outsmart each other.
In the interview Mr. Kpobari disclosed that the community must be sincere in their fight against cultism and other criminal activities.
Unconfirmed sources say the gang members had warned him to stop collaborating with security agencies to halt illegal bunkering in the area.
Pundits believe that illegal bunkering is a life wire of criminal gang in the community and they would stop at nothing to eliminate any obstacle to their operation.
The Spokesperson of Rivers State Police Command Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Nnamdi Omoni did not pick calls put across to him by our reporter. The police spokesperson asked our reporter via text message to text him.
Before going to press, Omoni was yet to respond to text messages sent to his mobile phone on enquiries into the incident.
