COVID 19: Clergyman Urges Christians To Rededicate Themselves To God

The Minister-in-Charge, Rhema Chapel International Churches Port Harcourt ,Pastor Abiola Ajadi has called on Christian faithful to rededicate themselves by observing their quiet time, family altar and be committed to the study of the Word and Christian literature in order to build closer relationship with God at this critical time of coronavirus pandemic world over.

The Man of God stressed the importance of getting closer to the Maker as he ministered the Word to the people during his online word ministration series on Sunday through the church’s social media platform.

Pastor Ajadi noted that regrettably many Christians have forgotten to observe things that could make them grow spiritually, saying that the ministration is a wakeup call for the faithful to rise from their slumber.

According to him, quiet time is an interactive session with God, “where you talk to Him and He talks back to you.” He explained that this practice is different from the usual church gathering, adding that Jesus demonstrated the practice during his earthly ministry.

Apart from this, he urged Christians to observe family altar which he described as a church on its own. He said the practice involves family members gathering to worship God.

Pastor Ajadi explained that the church is not the building but a place for the gathering of the people. He said that, for one to be spiritually sound, there is the need for a family altar. He described an altar as a raised area if worship which can bring about miracles and healing in the lives of God’s children.

In addition, the M.I.C urged Christians to make study of the Word God a lifestyle. He cited the book of 2 Timothy 2:15 which emphasized the need to study and be approved.

He concluded by cautioning that, “If you don’t study the Word of God, situations and COVID-19 can put you to shame. He said that, for Christians to become what they were destined for, they needed to be given to the study of the Bible and Christian journals, noting that this is one of the avenues for spiritual growth.
