George Puts Smile On Faces Of ASALGANS

As part of his selfless contributions to humanity, the founder  and Vision Bearer of ASALGA 13 For Wike, Ambassador Onegiyerofori George has donated food items to the people of Asari-Toru Local Government Area to cushion the effects of the Sit-at-Home directive of the government following the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

Receiving the food and other household items from Ambassador George at Buguma last week, the Chairman of ASALGA 13 For Wike, Hon. Daibi Amachree commended the Vision Bearer for the steps taken, saying the global economic downturn has also affected the people of ASALGA.

Mr. Amachree further commended the group’s founder for his rare show of charity, stressing that in this moment of economic challenges, the wealthy feel secured while the less privileged is worried about what to eat.

He praised the state government for the precautionary measures taken so far to curtail and avoid overwhelming spread of the outbreak even as he also thanked the government for the review of some of the stiff and stringent laws of where to buy and sell.

Mr. Amachree however appealed to the Ward Coordinators to judiciously distribute the food items only to the people in each of the 13 wards that made up ASALGA.

The Secretary of the group, Bro. Sele Francis also commended the kind gesture of the Vision Bearer, describing Ambassador George is ‘one man that still has the milk of human kindness flowing in him and who has been extending hands of charity to the less privileged in the area in compliance with God’s commandment’.

He said the kind gesture will go a long way to assuage the sufferings of the people due to the pandemic as the prices of all items have already stripped workers of their fixed monthly income.

The philanthropist, Ambassador George, in his response said he will ever be committed to rendering humanitarian service and urged the people to take all precautionary measures against the coronavirus.
