…Harps On Suffering, Love, Forgiveness As Significance Of Easter Celebration
The member representing Khana/Gokana Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Dumnamene Dekor says at no point in recent history of Christendom has the significance of Easter as the core value of the suffering of our Lord, Jesus Christ been brought to the fore than this year’s Easter celebration.
Rt. Hon. Dekor made the observation in his Easter message to his Khana/Gokana Constituents while wishing them a blessed, fulfilled and fruitful celebration.
According to the federal lawmaker, the events of the time call for total commitment and submission to Almighty God as the only hope for mankind in the face of intractable diseases and coronavirus pandemic attack and the failure of human efforts for solution.
Rt. Hon. Dekor said one lesson from the ravaging pandemic is the realization that without God on our side we remain vulnerable, helpless and can do nothing in the face of danger, and will do well to embrace the all time truth that God alone is the most powerful, the author and finisher of our faith.
Recalling the ugly skirmishes that took place in Khana and Gokana Local Government Areas recently, he appealed to the people especially the youths to cultivate the culture of showing love to one another, shun cultism, embrace peace and leave vengeance to God in all circumstances.
Still on the coronavirus that has rattled the whole world, causing global outcry and stalemating world economy, the federal lawmaker charged his constituents to complement God’s protection by heeding stipulated government orders and staying safe at home.
Rt. Hon. Dumnamene Dekor said it is incumbent and indeed, obligatory that the people join hands with the state governor in his efforts to ensure that the coronavirus pandemic does not spread in the state.
“The only way you will acknowledge and appreciate what government is doing is by adhering to the regulations of our dear Governor, Chief Barr. Nyesom Wike, who has demonstrated unwavering capacity to ensure our safety. There is no better way we can support his sacrifices at this trying time than obey his orders”, the federal lawmaker declared.
Rt. Hon. Dekor said it’s not only painful but also regrettable to note that some people particularly the youths seem not to realize the challenges of the time when their actions are at cross roads with the efforts of the leaders and appealed to his people for calm and help in facilitating a new Ogoni that is devoid of bitterness and rancor.
The federal lawmaker however, lauded the efforts of those who have in one way or another contributed in ensuring that there is peace in the area as well as those who have identified with the people in the face of the ravaging coronavirus through sensitization and humanitarian efforts.
He prayed God to also meet them at the point of their needs and bless them abundantly.
