An illustrious son of Rivers State HRH Eze Uche Umejuru, says Rivers people should not only commend Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike for protecting the interests of the State but for his the resilience he has displayed so far to ensure that Rivers State is corona virus free.
Eze Uche Umejuru who is the paramount ruler of Idu Kingdom in Ogba Egbema Ndonni LGA of Rivers State made this Known in a chat with news men in Port Harcourt.
According to him. “There are things you don’t joke with, and there are things you don’t do Politics with, as for the process to curtail corona virus pandemic in this country. Rivers people should commend Governor Wike for his effort and time to protect the interest of Rivers people. Besides, we must also appreciate the courage God has granted Wike to Challenge the Federal Government on the Issue of security and defence as well as health Eze Umejuru eulogized.
He described Governor Wike as an outstanding leader who has the pontential and prospect to become Nigeria’s President.
He Pointed out that since the out break of corona virus in china last December steps taking by each political leader now serves as a yardstic and a compass to score and assess each leader, adding that he scores Governor Wike very high.
“Given that nobody is perfect but if you ask me to score Governor Wike on the fight against corona virus. I will score him 95%” Eze Umejure said.
The Philantropist stated that the federal government has done well compare to the number of death in Nigeria and elsewhere.
“No doubt going by world health organization (WHO) assessment of countries in the fight against corona pandemic, you will agree with me that Nigeria has done well compare to the number of deaths record in other countries.”
Eze Umejure reiterated that in a period of crisis such as this multi-nationals doing business in Rivers States should come forward with relief materials for their host communities.
“At a time, such as this we expect the multi-nationals doing business in Idu in particular and Rivers State in general to comes up with palliative measures for their host communities because Government cannot do it alone.”
He assured that despite the marginalization and negligence by multinational cooperations, he and his subjects would continue to protect government and oil companies facilities in his domain.
In my domain Idu there will be nothing like sabotage or explosion, anybody that commit crime is a criminal because our people have enough food through fishing and farming which they do very well.”
Eze Omejuru expressed delight that the people of his Kingdom has been practicing social distancing before the outbreak of the corona virus pandemic.
“2 poles par a woman in the area of farming is part of how our people maintain and observe social distancing. In fact, our culture and tradition have taken care of so many natural distancing”.
Eze Umejuru who is the Eze Okwuonu Ka Oha of Idu Ogba stated that since the pandemic is real and is affecting the entire world the people of ONELGA and Rivers State should obey and observe all rules and regulations of covid 19.
“Since this pandemic is a global issue. I will advise Rivers people to observe all the rules and regulations as well as instructions of NCDC. We must not take things for granted Eze Umejuru urged.”
