GDI Attacks Uwazuruike Over Comments Against Wike, Declares Him Persona Non grata
The Grassroot Development Initiative (GDI) in Rivers State has berated the Leader of the Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, over his outburst against the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.
The group who described the secessionist leader as persona nongrata, alleged that Uwazuruike
had in a video trending online used abusive language against the Rivers State governor on the issue of two hotels demolished by the Rivers State government.
The GDI alleged at a press briefing on Tuesday that the two hotels were camping grounds for thugs used by the MASSOB leader.
GDI President-General, Chief Hon. Bright Amewhule, said at the press briefing: “He (Chief Uwazuruike) should note that we are Rivers people, not Igbo people. He does not know the meaning of Wike. Okorocha and any other governor in his region cannot match Governor Wike. It is our knowledge that the demolished hotel(s) in Eleme LGA of Rivers State have remained the camping ground for Ralph Uwazuruike thugs till the date it was demolished.
“Which responsible organization has he led or leading or patron to, if not criminal and notorious gang?
“Based on the realities on ground as the President-General of Grassroot Development Initiative (Worldwide), I hereby direct all members of GDI in any part of the world to be at alert and Ralph Uwazuruike is hereby declared persona non grata in any state or country where GDI exists”.
The group also said Uwazuruike should render an apology to Rivers people “for calling Governor Wike all sorts of names, (or) else he must face the music”.
The President-General said: “We have the capacity to contain him, the idiot, called Ralph Uwazuruike “.
Amewhule said the MASSOB Leader does not have status that would match that of the governor of Rivers State who had held sensitive positions in government and is into his second term as governor of Rivers State.
The group further said the likes of Chris Finebone, Senator Magnus Abe, Femi Falana, Dakuku Peterside and others criticizing the governor had refused to make any comments concerning alleged criminal activities which were taking place in the hotels demolished by the state government and implored Nigerians to disregard those criticizing the governor and continue to appreciate steps taken by the governor to protect lives and property of people of Rivers State.
Other members of the group present at the press briefing include GDI’s Deputy President and Executive Chairman of Gokana LGA, ,Hon. Paul Kobani and Secretary-General, Engr Hon. Samuel Nwanosike who is also the Executive Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area.
