FCE (T) Omoku Mourns Nwanosike’s Death

The Federal College of Education (Technical), Omoku, Rivers State has announced the passing away of a Senior Deputy Registrar in charge of Directorate of Degree Programmes, Dr. Oba Francis Nwanosike.

A statement from the Public Relations Offcer (PRO) of the college, Prince C.C Amadike-Otoboh, JP said the demise of the academic don which occurred on Friday, May 1, 2020 sent shock waves across the college community.

Dr Oba Francis Nwanosike MNIM, an indigene of Omoku Community who until his demise, was the National Treasurer of Senior Staff Union of Colleges of Education in Nigeria (SSUCOEN), reportedly died at the Foundation Clinic Omoku after a brief illness.

Speaking when he led a delegation of college management and other senior staff on a condolence visit to the bereaved family on Monday 4th may, 2020, the Provost of the College, Sir (Dr) Emmanuel Ikenyiri described the Late Dr Oba Nwanosike a hardworking, vibrant, honest, dedicated and God-fearing staff whose passing-on is a big blow to the college and Nigeria in general.

The Provost on behalf of the College consoled with the bereaved family and prayed the Almighty God to give them the enablement to bear the loss and also grant the soul of the departed Deputy Registrar a peaceful rest, assuring that the College will participate during the burial.

Responding on behalf of the bereaved family, The Special Adviser to the Chairman of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area on Chieftaincy Affairs, Chief (Hon) Mbadiwe Augustine Osaji (the Elewhenwata of Ogbaland), thanked the Provost and his delegation for the condolence visit and assured that the college will be informed accordingly soon as the family commences the burial arrangements.

The statement added that the late Nwanosike who was survived by his wife, children and host of other relations, belonged to many professional and socio-cultural organisations among which is the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), Obakata Mandate and Otu China Age Grade of Omoku.
